Day at the Zoo

G'ma and G'pa K and Heather were in town a few weeks ago. Aunt Heather had an interview and we are excited to say that she accepted her first nursing job!!! We are so proud of you! But, gosh it sure makes me feel old. Time sure does fly by.

While in town G'ma and G'pa did some finalizing on their house plans. It was fun to go to the design gallery with them to look at all of the options and pick things out. Wow can that be overwhelming though. There are never-ending options for everything, even the smallest of details that I have never thought about. Here are a few photos from us just hanging out.

Although the weekend was busy we were able to fit in a trip to the zoo. Neala was a little more awake this time around and we explored the opposite side of the zoo that we had not been to yet. First stop was the alligators and turtles. Halena and Kaylee enjoyed peeking through the glass at the swimming turtles. And we have not stopped hearing about alligators since we left. Halena has talked about them each day in some way or another, and it is weeks later.

Halena was not too sure about the seal exhibit at first. When you are underground you are able to watch them swim. And they swim by very quickly. It startled her at first, but with some encouraging from Kaylee she started to enjoy it.

In the polar bear area there is an "ice cave" that you can crawl in like the bears. The girls needed to see how it was done...if you look closely you can see Jeff inside. How did the tallest one of us all end up in the littlest space of all. Daddy is always a good sport. Once the girls had the idea, they did not want to leave. They liked climbing in and out and sliding down the little slope. The girls were tuckered out by the end of the trip. We look forward to our next adventure at the zoo.
